The Interview
When did you start podcasting, and what prompted you to start?
2020, with our previous iteration, “Cinema Sass”! Now, we are rebranding and pivoting to a pod that better suits us, now, and in the future: Motherhood and our love for Movies.
What’s one episode of the Movie Moms Podcast you recommend for new listeners to start with and why?
Our first episode premieres on October 30 (2023) anywhere you listen to your pods, with monthly episodes following that!
Do you have a favorite episode or moment? Why is it your favorite?
We love making each other laugh with our attempts to survive parenthood and stories about our “darling” children that we love “all the time”.
Are there any episodes that took a surprising turn or taught you something new?
Not yet, but we are excited to meet other moms to help review our favorite movies.
If you could interview anyone, living or dead, on your podcast, who would it be and why?
Kris Jenner, the mother of all moms! I just want to know how she does it ALL, while I can barely raise one kid and work one job.
Do you have any funny or unexpected behind-the-scenes stories to share?
We broke our mic stand within seconds of pressing the record! It simply gave up and came crashing to the ground, followed by our belly laughter.
What do you wish you had known before you started the Movie Moms Podcast?
You WILL forget to record yourself at least once. Don’t panic. The second time around will most likely be better anyways!
Aside from podcasting, what are some of your other interests or hobbies?
Watching movies!
Can you give us a sneak peek into any upcoming episodes of the Movie Moms Podcast?
Episode 1 is looking a little more pink than usual.
Do you have any download/subscription statistics you are willing to share?
Not yet! Because of our previous fan base, we hope to maintain at least half of our subscribers, which would land us around 200 downloads per ep.
Which brand and/or type of microphone do you use and why?
We don’t pay too much attention to brands, just quality and comfort. We both like different qualities in mics so we tend to do test whispers into 100 different choices until we land on the ones we like!
Do you also enjoy listening to podcasts? If so, what is your favorite?
Of course! We listen to Drunk Theory Pod and Conan.
How do you promote the Movie Moms Podcast?
Via social media, though we are looking forward to adding more expansive partnerships, soon.
Have you ever had to deal with negative feedback or trolls? How did you handle it?
So far, we have only had the “privilege” of dealing with one “excessive listener” and we took the opportunity to exercise grace.
Have you monetized the Movie Moms Podcast? If so, what strategies have you found to be most effective?
Not yet, but we are open and willing to collaborate!
